The agenda was approved without objection following addition of discussion of the 2010 FOSDEM conference (item 6, below). <http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/oic/200909/msg00045.html> 2. STATUS OF ACTION ITEMS #0001 OpenDocument Fellowship/Intel Contact. There is still no response from Intel. Rob will follow-up. #0015 Template Scenario: No progress while #0032 is incomplete. #0026 Test Scenarios - No report. #0027 Test Scenarios - No report. #0028 Virtual Plugfest - To be closed. Don Harbison reported that he has no approval to move forward and we should close this item for now. #0031 UOF-ODF. No news from Peter Junge yet. #0032 Wiki 1.6 Upgrade Repairs. This is still in progress. #0033 End-User Best Practices for Document Portability. There was more discussion on this. There was a discussion on automated manipulation and pointing out errors or otherwise getting in the user's face. Suggestion to continue adding bullet points to the wiki page, including discussion of document authoring practices and how product and tools could help detection and repair of interoperability-limiting practices. <http://wiki.oasis-open.org/oic/EndUser> #0034 Interop Demo Videos. Work not yet started on this new item. #0035 NEW ITEM: Interop Fest at FOSDEM 2010. Louis owns this item (see 6, below). 3. STATE OF INTEROPERABILITY The balloting concluded and the working draft is approved as cd01. There was some discussion on what needs to be expanded for the next Committee Draft. There was some discussion on logistical problems with the ballot when someone is named on the voting list who is not entitled to vote, etc. [Part of the problem was with the voting membership not having been updated from the previous meeting when the ballot was created. This will be avoided by always updating attendance-related membership-status immediately following OIC TC coordination calls.] 4. ODF 1.1 INTEROP PROFILES AND PREVIEW-IMAGE DISCUSSION Background: <http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=34166>, <http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OIC-26> and <http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/oic/200908/msg00040.html> We basically focused on the problem of preview-image interoperability. Different classes of application may have different considerations concerning preview images of embedded material. Bart suggested focus on the core and things that are true for every platform and every implementation that is at the core. Preview images may not be in the core. Bart will post a message providing more perspective on the issue. [It has since appeared at <http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/oic/200909/msg00054.html>.] 5. FEEDBACK ON OIC-PRESENTATION AT ISO JTC1/SC34 MEETING Dennis, Rob, and Andrew were at the SC34 meeting in Bellevue, Washington, a suburb of Seattle, on September 13-17. Dennis made a presentation on OIC activities to SC34 WG5 on ODF-OOXML Harmonization, using a selection of slides that Bart is developing for an Orvieto presentation. The version that Dennis used is available in the OIC document repository, <http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/oic/200909/msg00050.html>. SC34 appointed Doug Mahugh the liaison from WG5 to OIC. We should look at having him be the reciprocal liaison from the OIC TC. Whoever it is from the OIC TC, it needs to be someone who is able to attend SC34 meetings. Having someone who is already an SC34 participant is valuable in that respect. 6. UPDATE ON ODF PLUGFEST IN ORVIETO ITALY Another conference call is scheduled for 2009-09-24. Invitations have come out by e-mail and postal mail from the OpenDocument Society. There will be a public implementation on the web site, <http://plugtest.opendocsociety.org/doku.php> 7. FOSDEM 2010, <http://www.fosdem.org/2010/> Louis recommended that we start planning now for another plugfest in Brussels in conjunction with FOSDEM, 6-7 February 2010. - There could be a full- or 3/4-day event - Someone has to request its inclusion and offer to drive it forward - Bart is also preparing - Rob pointed out that OASIS has a new requirement for a formal interoperability demonstration before an OASIS specification can go to ISO/IEC JTC1. There might be an opportunity to intercept this with an ODF 1.2 interoperability ceremony that fulfills that purpose. 8. ROUND TABLE We did not reach this part of the agenda before running out of time. 9. FUTURE MEETING PLANNING The next call is Wednesday, 2009-10-07. 10. ADJOURNMENT Respectfully submitted, - Dennis E. Hamilton OIC TC Secretary
