Subject: Rank in the Reputation Format
Nat, Based on today’s discussions I am thinking that Rank
is intended as a projection of the already normalized (0..1) reputation score
to a real-world acceptable scale for readability. Is that an accurate statement of the intent of Rank? If so - The onus is to characterize this projection to
possible classes. For example.
While this is interesting information – would it be
optimal in including within the reputation element-file as opposed to a
parallel running database that reflects the possibly dynamic state of affairs? For example the fixed scale implies a ranking based on an “absolute”
or set yardstick and the score makes one fall onto a certain scale point. OTOH,
there could be ‘curving’ as well (as in case of school-course
scoring) that is indicative of the influence of number of samples to the score.
But that, I would have thought, is actually a function of reputation scoring
itself and not on ranking. Can you clarify? Regards, -mani ============= Mahalingam Mani 408.321.4840 (w) |
