Subject: RE: [plcs-dex] Business concepts, Terms and DEXs

Rob,

yes this will be useful. I thought that there was a version for the parts list that we had been working on - but that seems to have disappeared!

Ah - on the topic at hand...

I would suggest to move the figure 1 up in front of the attribute definitions for the MI.

I think a heading for mandatory / optional attributes might make it clearer (given the no. of atts).

The table is useful - reminds me of the early Dex1 stuff, but is now more relevant than previously. It is a lot of manual work to get those tables correct - shame we can't do them in Word & then import them somehow!

One thing the table doesn't explicitly show, is the top level mapping - I mean from Manufacture's Item to Part; it only covers the attributes - so it *looks like* 3 instances are being created, though I realise that this is the template mapping.

In fact, what is not clear from this is why the other template variables from Fig 2 are not described in the table below. I think we need to be careful about how to & to exactly what in Fig 2 we (you) are referring to here.

cheers,
Tim

Thanks for the comments Trine

I have responded to the comments in the document and modified the XSL where appropriate. I will check in these changes shortly.

Does any one else have any comments on the example?

Regards
Rob

Hi Rob.

Good work (as always)!

I have been through the example business concept and given a few comments (attached document).

Leif T, Leif G and I will discuss the assign_code capability tomorrow afternoon. We will propose some dates for the next webexs.

Regarding the term definitions - are there any overlap with reference data?

Regards

Trine

HI

I have done a fair bit of work on the business concepts.

There is an example in manufacturers_item.

This shows the XML used and a proposed layout.

All comments welcome.

I have also introduced a terminology dictionary and a way of defining terms in business concepts.

I was wondering whether we should add the idea of terms to DEXs and capabilities - perhaps replacing keywords?

Or maybe keywords should be defined as terms?

When is our next modellers telecom?

Regards
Rob
