Subject: RE: Capability/Template usage - defined

Further to my earlier email about guidance on this....

I had two templates implemented and both are defined functionally for use within C005, Representing_documents.

One was created when the template definitions were removed from the capabilities & placed in their own directory on sourceforge under own revision control.

The second was created using the mk_template.wsf in the /dexlib/utils/dex  directory.

Both have been entered into the template_index.xml file in the dexlib/data/templates directory, one automatically (I presume), the other by hand.

Both can be found in the dexlib navigation tool under templates.

However, only one template appears within the Capability when loaded up through dexlib, or when viewing it "in-situ".

How does one enable another template to be added to the capability view?

Answer: add a proxy into the Templates section within the capability!

e.g. <template_proxy name="representing_document"/>

(The order of the proxies reflects the order when viewed in situ).

It would be useful if the script above would add these automatically.

Tim

Subject: Capability/Template usage

Hi Rob,

just a quick question about the use of the new template configuration/use in DEXLIB.

Do you have any usage notes for the new template functionality? I can see that /dexlib/utils/dex has the mk_template_main.js script which I presume creates the main template directory & file shell, and that the template has a slot for which capability it belongs to, but how do we specify the order of the templates in the capability? Or is this just done on some default mechanism?

Do we need to specify any other details in any other files once we have created the template.xml file - e.g. in the template index file?

I guesss this'll make it's way into the help section at some point.

regards,
Tim
