Subject: SV: [plcs-dex] Template: assigning_realized_resource was referencing_resource_as_realized
Information regarding
status added to “Technical description of PLCS – Templates”
in the PLCS Information Pages in DEXlib (dexlib/help/dex/techdes_template.xml) Regards, Mats Från: Rob Bodington
[mailto:rob.bodington@eurostep.com] Good point Steve. The templates are in the
process of being developed. The intent is that a
number will be “frozen” and submitted to as part of the first
release of the DEXs as consideration for OASIS standard. Hopefully towards the
year end. To this aim, the
templates are being reviewed, and issues raised against them addressed. So for each template,
there is a status shown on the front page, The status are:
identified - recognized the need for a template, should have a title
introduction
planned - a modeller has been assigned with timescale
in_work - modeller working on it
end_modelling - modeller completed model, now ready for review
in_model_review - modeller notified model reviewer to start review
end_model_review - review by modeller finished
model_review_issues_addressed - modeller finished addressing issues raised by
modeller review
in_business_review - modeller notifed business
users to start review
end_business_review - review by business users finished
business_review_issues_addressed - modeller finished addressing issues raised
by business user review
complete - accepted by the dex coordination committee.
deprecated - use of the template is been deprecated The front page also shows
how many issues are open. The maturity indicator is
then a combination of the status and open issues. Regards ------------------------------------------- Eurostep

Steve Yates Hi Rob, I have no objection to
this one, but in principle I do have a concern. In this particular case,
no effort has gone into implementing this Template in real code. If it
had, then that some rework would have been required, which would have needed
funding. In the AP203/AP214 arena,
there was particular dismay amongst the software vendors when changes of this
form came up, leading in the end to them refusing to implement anything that
had not reached ISO IS status, i.e. would not change. This may be
something to bear in mind as more implementations of AP239, especially those
using the templates, come into being. One way of mitigating
this may be to have a maturity indicator on the Template, to give a feeling of
how likely it is to change, and thus how “safe” it is to put into
code. Cheers Steve ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steve Yates Senior Consultant Tel: +44 1745 582008 Fax: +44 1745 585556 Mobile: +44 7795 563102 E-Mail: Steve.Yates@Eurostep.com Web: www.eurostep.com Eurostep Limited.

Rob Bodington [mailto:rob.bodington@eurostep.com] Hi The template referencing_resource_as_realized has
been renamed assigning_realized_resource This is in response to an issue raised against it and
to align it with the template assigning_required_resource. At this stage, the template
referencing_resource_as_realized has been deprecated rather than deleted. Unless there are any objections, I propose to go
ahead with the renaming and delete referencing_resource_as_realized Regards ------------------------------------------- Eurostep Limited. Registered
