Subject: RE: [plcs] New Work Item for DEX 10 System Requirements
Good point.
Under the original concept of DEX teams, a proposal for a
new DEX would result in the creation of a DEX team structure on the web site, to
which members could sign up. Inevitably, the proposal should include an
explanation of its scope, and the business case for undertaking the work, in
order to solicit participation.
With the advent of the Technical Oversight Group, we have
an additional opportunity to assure the technical integration of the work with
other tasks. It makes sense for the Group to review new work items under
the TC to ensure that we can plan integration from the
start.
Thus I think we should make sure that the TOG reviews
proposals and adds comments as necessary before presenting them to the
group.
Is that acceptable as a basic approach?

There
is no introduction or business need identified for DEX10.
In the
new structure I assume that the Technical Oversight Group (TOG) will have to
endorse this DEX (and the participants?) before it can move forward (The
TOG need to define an approval process).
