Subject: RE: [regrep-cc-review] [LAST CALL!!!] Re: [regrep-cc-review] Moving Forward (RIM-based vs. XML Serialization)
Joe, Obviously I'm NOT in 100% agreement with this approach. I'm OK with it - upto the last sentence. Why handcuff ourselves? I think we can defer a decision on the last piece until we get into the implementation details and discover what is really needed. At this point we're just making an educated guess as to what might be the ultimate outcome here. No sense in excluding options that we are not certain over. So I would ask that the last sentence be simply deleted for now. Thanks, DW. ======================================================= Message text written by "Chiusano Joseph" >I think we're at the point where our majority favors a RIM-based approach: That is, mapping to RIM where possible, and - where not possible - either use Slots, or recommend updates to the RIM as required. This means that we would *not* be defining an XML serialization for Core Components in *any way*, and will leave that up to other initiatives/groups. Please reply to this e-mail (on the listserv) only if you are *not* in 100% agreement with what is stated above. Otherwise, we will move forward with this approach. <
