Colleagues,
We have been invited to comment on the drafts for
ISO-IEC 11179-3 and ISO-IEC 19763-3. Attached are the templates for collecting
comments on these items. I would like to use our next ebXML RegRep meeting to
discuss our comments and how to provide the reviews. I would like us to provide
one consolidated response from our committee to Bruce, as opposed to several
different responses, which may or may not all be in synch...
I see this as an opportunity to continue the
collaboration in the standards arena, and was pleased to have been invited to
comment on the drafts. As you can see from Bruce's notes, there has been an
effort to align 11179 with RegRep RIM.

Part 3 is now out for ballot. I invite you and the OASIS Reg/Rep folks to
comment. I have volunteered to consolidate comments for submission to the
US National Body (INCITS L8) for consideration. Some effort has been put into
aligning 11179 with the OASIS Reg/Rep, particularly the RIM. I see these as
complimentary, not competing standards. A copy of Committee Draft 2 of

find to be interesting is ISO/IEC 19763 Part 3. I will also consolidate comments

interested in reviewing and commenting on the documents, please let me
know. Note that this informal collection
of comments is distinct from the establishment of a US National Body position
and comments. That will be done in a meeting and/or ballot of L8 members. Any
input that I receive will be input to the formal L8
discussion. Attached to this message are
templates for the comments, based on the ISO comment template. This should help
to collect the essential information. Most important is to specify where in the
document a comment refers to, then state the problem and a suggested
solution. I need any comments that you may
have by the end of April, 2009. Please let me know if you have
questions. A conference call could be set up, if that would be
