Subject: RE: [rights] RE: publishing prospective members

Title: RE: publishing prospective members
Hello Simon:
Thanks for pointing this out...I apologize for the confusion.

Your name is listed on the list that is in the document repository: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/rights/documents/rltc/membership/OASIS%20Rights%20Language%20Technical%20Committee%20Membership.htm. I have been sending change requests into OASIS to sync up the list on the main page and the document repository...I must have missed your name in the last sync.

Again, in a very early meeting I stated to the General Body that the most recent membership listing will appear on the document repository list and that I will send a note to the OASIS webmaster to update the main RLTC page accordingly since I do not manage this page...I can see where someone new would find it confusing.

I am going to
1. submit a change on the main page to point to the document in the repository as the most recent list.
2. request another sync.

Regards,
Hari

Hello Anne:
I am well aware of the duties of managing the membership.

The reason why you did not see any note on the list is because the TC in one its very early discussions said that they preferred that the name of new prospective members just be posted on the website and introduced at the next meetings. I have done this and also noted new members at each RLTC meeting and subcommittee meeting. We also have a standing line item at each RLTC meeting for new member introductions.

I have sent a welcome note to Michelle Aden this evening.

Regards,
Hari

Dear Hari,

I know you have a lot of work to do as chair, but I would very
much appreciate your attention to one of the duties listed in the
OASIS Committee Process at
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/process.shtml#membership

e). TC Membership.

An Eligible Person shall become a prospective member of an
existing TC by sending by mail notice of intention to
participate to the chair of the TC, who shall notify the TC of
this request. Prospective membership shall begin seven days
  after this notice is received.

Please "notify the TC of this request" when you receive a request
for prospective membership.  Michelle Aden of Sun submitted a
request for prospective membership on 24 Sep 2002.  I needed a
Sun representative from the W. Coast to provide additional
coverage for me.  I have seen no acknowledgment of her request
(or of any other prospective members) on the rights mailing
list.

Thanks,
Anne Anderson
