Minutes
<Mike Edwards>
17/27 = 62% Quorate
agenda bashing
minutes from previous telecon
no objections to minutes, they are approved
action items
one open, and it is still pending
administrivia
reminded everyone of Assembly F2F in December
Scott V will be sending logistics for the F2F
existing issues against the spec
Mike suggests a straw pole
to see if there is a prevailing direction for resolving this
EricW:
Appologies for tardiness
Role now 19/27 = 70% - OK for new issues
New Issues
Related to SCA Policy issue POLICY-46
Assembly schema needs to allow external and internal attachments of policy
BryanA:
Will this impact binding and C&I etc?
DaveB:
Yes - this is a non-trivial amount of work
Motion: m=DaveB s=AshokM Open issue ASSEMBLY-188
Resolution: Open issue ASSEMBLY-188 w/o
BryanA:
Applies to specific operations - not complete portType
AshokM:
No - can be applied in general
MikeE:
An intent sub-element in all places that intent attribute allowed?
Motion: m=AshokM s=DaveB Open issue ASSEMBLY-189
Resolution: Open issue ASSEMBLY-189 w/o
AshokM best to wait until Policy TC resolves their issues until considering detailed proposals
Existing Issues
MikeE:
Suggest straw poll to decide direction
MikeE:
Because there's no agreement on proposal for (b) - relaxed conformance requirements
...it's a lot of work to produce a detailed proposal
...so it would be good to determine if this work is justified
Motion: Close ASSEMBLY-132 with no action m=DannyV s=ScottV
DannyV:
Don't support this position - made to progess vote
MartinC:
Any in favor of motion?
TC agrees that modifying the conformance requirements will be considered and the work would be worthwhile
MartinC:
Don't think we need a separate doc - change normative statements in spec
EricW:
Would like to see less (none) language specific details in Assembly spec
...these language specifics should be somewhere else (but don't know where)
MikeE:
As noted before we can't have a Test suite without at least one implementation
MartinC:
Test suite has to exist and must be available - but don't think we can dictate how
MikeE:
More impact on Siemens - propriety language for embedded systems
MartinC:
But what advantage to claim conformance with SCA?
Sanjay is not on call so don't know if he would modify the porposal?
MikeE:
ASSEMBY-149 - similar but wrt binding - any comments on this?
AOB
Straggler role - EricW AnishK
