Subject: Re: [ubl-lcsc] [code] ISO considering charging for commercial useof code lists

Welcome back sue,

it is good to know that UN/ECE can provide many of these. With respect
to your final question, it would help if you could look at the package
Stepehen just posted 'draft 4 models of UBL 1.0 alpha' and particularly
try and populate column I "External Source Agency" of the Code List
Catalogue with your recommendations/suggestions. to date we have not
paid too much attention to this but as we move from theory into practice
we will have to start considering our options here. in principal the
recommendations of CEFACT (or more correctly UN/ECE) would be the first
choice.

at this stage we are not necessarily asking agencies to provide the
schemas for these codes - just the raw data. my guess is we shall
build these ourselves as part of 1.0 alpha (and beta) then during trial
implementation we will start to get them outsourced.

we plan to discuss this as part of the review on tuesday's call.
