UBL TC MEETING IN STOCKHOLM 24-28 SEPTEMBER 2007

A placeholder for updates to the draft agenda:

      http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200708/msg00029.html

2008 TC WORK SCHEDULE

ACTION (8/14): JB to make a timeline that fits the work into
   the OASIS TC process.

      Pending.

2008 TC MEETING SCHEDULE

28 Jan - 1 Feb 2008 in Manhattan (Hotel Bedford recommended)

This date has now been confirmed. Participants can (and
probably should) begin making travel plans. Note that hotel
rates will be substantially higher closer to the meeting date.

March 2008 in Rome (together with UBL International Day)

Discussion still in progress among the organizers of the ID.

   August 2008 in Montréal

Two possibilities: the week of 4 August or the week of 11
August, depending on the scheduling of the Extreme Markup
      Languages conference the week before.

   January 2009 in Fremantle

      Still tentative.

UPDATE PACKAGE

   See

      http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200708/msg00035.html

   1. Regarding the items listed under "Suspected original and
      localization spreadsheet DEN errors"

GKH: These are self-consistency errors; either the DEN is
not properly assembled from its components, or the
      components are in error.

TM: Note that the DENs in the spreadsheets are not
normative. The DENs in the schemas were generated by GEFEG
FX directly from the CCTS model.

ACTION: GKH to confirm programatically that the corrected
DENs listed in msg00035.html above match the DENs in the
      schema files.

ACTION: TM to check the proposed corrections to the DEN
      components.

   2. Regarding items 1 and 2 under "Code list errors"

TM/AS: There are new standard versions of the Unit of
Measure and Transportation Status code lists on the UNECE
      website.

Discussion: We will need to be clear on the difference
between validation and code list checking. The code lists
themselves are not normative. Users must be aware of the
benefits and risks of including code list metadata for each
code in document instances. GKH has examples in his
tutorial that we can use in the Update Package to explain
      this.

Future action: Someone (probably TM) will eventually need to
create new gc versions of the UnitOfMeasure,
TransportStatus, and Port code lists. No deadline yet.

ACTION: JB to update the update list.

CL TRANSFER (TRACKING)

Impact on the Update Package of the CLR TC decision to take
   over the CL Methodology work.

   GKH: Primary impacts will be:

    - New 1.0 genericode versions of all the code lists

    - Inclusion of context value association files (postpone till
CLR TC comes out with methodology spec)

Assume GKH for these work items (no deadline yet).

PACIFIC ACTION ITEMS FROM MANHATTAN (TRACKING)

ACTION: PSC and TSC to provide feedback on UBL 2.0 SBS 2.0:

      http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/23873

      Pending.

ACTION: PSC and TSC to summarize business rules that are (1)
wanted in UBL but not allowed by [i.e., capable of being
addressed by] the NDR (e.g., requirement to include one of
PartyName and PartyIdentifier but not both) and (2) data items
whose constraints are inherited from another standard (e.g.,
lengths of data items specified by UNTDED); the rules so
identified to become candidates for a list of schematron
assertions "recommended to be included" (final characterization
   TBD).

      Pending.

TC CONCALL SCHEDULE

As always, the UBL TC will not hold conference calls the weeks
before and after the next f2f. Therefore, our concall schedule
for the next few weeks is as follows:

   Bangalore.
