Alain Regnier is a Senior Principal Engineer in the Advanced Imaging and
Networking group at Ricoh. Alain represents Ricoh in various networking
and imaging related Standardization Committees and leads the
implementation of new technologies and standards in the company's
products.

Over the last seven years, Alain served as Ricoh representative in the
UPnP Forum Steering Committee, Technical Committee and various working
groups. He also represented Ricoh in several PWG (Printer Working Group)
technical committees and OASIS working groups (WSRF, WS-TX).

Alain has been involved early on with the design (co-author of DPWS and
SOAP-over-UDP), implementation and interoperability testing of the three
specifications in WS-DD. He has also led their implementation efforts
within Ricoh and their port to various devices such as printer, scanner
and camera.

Prior to working for Ricoh, Alain worked with several companies in the
multimedia, imaging and networking industries, including ReplayTV where
he focused on network oriented features and designed the Internet Video
Sharing system and MyReplayTV.

Alain holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from ISEP (France)
and a SAPM certificate (Stanford University). He is a member of IEEE.

The first order of business at the inaugural TC meeting will be to elect
a
chair (or two co-chairs). All individuals interested in serving as a
Chair,
or in nominating another individual for the position of Chair, are
welcome
to make that candidacy known, prior to the meeting, by posting a note to
the
TC's e-mail list expressing their interest and/or intent along with a
brief
statement of their qualifications. However, this is not required, and
the
committee will be open to nominations from any qualified persons at its
first meeting as well.
