For Thursday: Broader Technology Participation in NCCoE

As I understand it, the technology integrated and tested at NCCoE has largely been confined coming from vendors who are able to contributed financial or other resources to the NCCoE program. No one would disagree that it is right and appropriate that organizations who have contributed be given special access and have projects focus around their projects and priorities.

However, it would also be desirable to find a way to allow at least additional technology to be represented in the testbed, to demonstrate wider interoperability (and any limitations you uncover) representing the ABAC technology choices.

One obvious point is that there are now (at least) two quality open source XACML PDP implementations, one from Forgerock (https://www.forgerock.com/) and the other the OpenAz Project which is now in the Apache Incubator. (https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/OpenAZProposal)

In addition I believe there are other vendors who can’t make a major contribution, but perhaps could provide evaluation software along with telephone support for installation and configuration.
