Subject: drafting OASIS vote outreach template

Hi all,
this is to draft a template to address OASIS primary representatives and invite them to vote on XLIFF 2.0 Candidate OASIS Standard 02 to become OASIS Standard.

I am including Felix and Dave, here as they are likely to help us.
@Felix, you can join the promotion SC if you wish to post directly to the SC mailing list. Otherwise, I will forward your ideas to the list.
@Dave, I will forward your ideas to the list

This is very rough, so feel free to redraft, this is just to keep the ball rolling..
Cheers
dF

Dear [primary representative, or another stakeholder at an organizational OASIS member]

this is to draw your attention to the [upcoming/currently open] membership ballot on XLIFF Version 2.0 Candidate OASIS Standard
[link to be provided by Chet Ensign, OASIS Admin by early next week]
XLILL TC and the language industry community would very much appreciate if your organization decided to vote in support of XLIFF Version 2.0 becoming an OASIS Standard.

About XLIFF
----------------
XLIFF is the only open standard bitext format. Bitext keeps source language and target language data in sync during multilingual publishing service transformations.
XLIFF 2.0 was in development between 2009 and 2014 and is the next generation incarnation of the loss-less bitext exchange format that can be used by any content publisher to expose their localizable and translatable content to language services providers who are in turn free to use any conformant tools to provide their specialized language services.
XLIFF 2.0 is roundtrip oriented and was designed to facilitate collaboration of many specialized tools along the language services transformation roundtrip, allowing collaboration within supply chains and among competitors.

W3C relationship [to put prominently when contacting W3C AC reps]
-----------------------
XLIFF TC has been in fruitful collaboration with several W3C based Working Groups and activities. Indeed, XLIFF was back in 2001 one of the first specialized XML industry vocabularies. There has been extremely fruitful overlap between the ITS 1.0 and ITS 2.0 Working Groups as well as the related Interest and Community Groups. XLIFF 2.1, a minor new version backwards compatible with XLIFF 2.0 is in the making. One of the main features will be a bidirectional loss-less ITS 2.0 mapping for XLIFF 2.1 and 2.x.
