Subject: RE: [xri] Issue 1: Clarifying * Semantics
I find it hard to believe that the implied delegation between "=" and "Loren" in "=Loren" is any harder to understand or code than the implied delegation between "1010" and "10" in "1010:10". It seems to me that the argument of a single delegation character falls down when you consider the delegation between the GCS character and the first name. =Loren -----Original Message----- From: Fen Labalme [mailto:fen@idcommons.org] Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2004 10:41 AM To: Loren West Cc: xri@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: Re: [xri] Issue 1: Clarifying * Semantics Loren West wrote: > I believe we haven't heard from anyone who's written > a parser because they'd be hard pressed to describe why > there's a significant difference. As an author of two parsers and a resolver, I find the proposed simplification to be of great use, not only in simplifying the BNF and the code, but also in simplifying the understanding needed to write the code.
