Subject: OASIS Member News: XML Global to Host UN/CEFACT and OASIS ebXMLConference in February 2001

Press Release

XML Global to Host UN/CEFACT and OASIS ebXML Conference in February 2001

Vancouver, B.C., January 24th, 2001, XML Global Technologies, Inc. (XMLG
OTC:BB) (www.xmlglobal.com), a product focused, XML powered, e-business
platform company, is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the
upcoming ebXML conference scheduled to be held in Vancouver, BC on the 12th
to 16th of February 2001. The conference, the first ebXML event to be held
in Canada, will be co-hosted by DataChannel, NetFish Technologies and
Cyclone Commerce.

ebXML Vancouver (www.ebxmlvancouver.org) is a five-day conference focused on
advancing ebXML as the accepted XML-based global infrastructure for
electronic business. The conference is one of a series, the last one having
been held in Tokyo in November 2000, with additional meetings scheduled for
April and May of this year. The conference will attract CEOs, CTOs, software
architects and developers from around the world, as well as members of the
international press.

XML Global has been an ardent supporter of ebXML since its inception in 1999
and is proud to have two of its management team as active members of the
ebXML initiative. Duane Nickull, Founder and CTO of XML Global, is a member
of the ebXML Steering Committee and co-editor, with Brian Eisenberg from
DataChannel, of the Technical Architecture Specification. David Webber, Vice
President of Business Development for XML Global, is involved with a wide
variety of XML initiatives, including the ebXML interoperability standards

"When the ebXML initiative was first proposed in September 1999 global
acceptance and approval was almost immediate," stated Peter Shandro, CEO of
XML Global. "Previous conferences have established significant milestones,
including the approval of an ebXML Requirements Specification and a
proof-of-concept demonstration for the routing and enveloping of ebXML
messages." Shandro continued, "Moving into the final and critical phases of
this initiative, XML Global is proud to be hosting the first ebXML
conference to be held in Canada."

As one of the co-hosts of the event, Cyclone Commerce will be highlighting
its position for supporting industry-wide initiatives designed to develop
new business-to-business (B2B) standards that allow business partners to
collaborate over the Internet.

"We are thrilled to be a part of the rapidly growing ebXML initiative. The
strong focus from international and small trading partners will make ebXML
one of the dominating standards in the near future," said David Bennett,
co-founder and chief technology officer of Cyclone Commerce. "Because the
ebXML standard helps drive down the costs of connecting and managing trading
relationships, companies leveraging ebXML will be able to experience more
affordable and scalable solutions. With this in mind, Cyclone's core
solutions naturally embrace ebXML and provide customers with the ability to
truly manage and connect to all of their partners."

"With the explosive growth of emarketplaces and eBusiness platforms, it's
become increasingly important to develop common standards that will make
true business-to-business communication a reality," said Brian Eisenberg,
Standards and Technology Liaison for DataChannel. "Companies wanting to stay
competitive need to have a strategic plan for integrating their existing
enterprise IT infrastructure with the emerging distributed service-based
architecture. DataChannel's decision to co-sponsor the ebXML meeting
reaffirms our commitment to helping ebXML achieve its goal of creating a
single global electronic market, which ultimately benefits the industry and
our customers."

"Netfish strongly supports the work of ebXML and actively participates in
key project teams, both as members and in leadership positions," said
Klaus-Dieter Naujok, Chair of ebXML and CTO of Netfish Technologies. "We
are pleased to co-host the Vancouver meeting and look forward to the
successful delivery of a product that will meet the needs of the global
