Arbortext Signs Concord Communications and Maytag Among 93 New Customers for Third Quarter Experiences 27% growth from second quarter ANN ARBOR, Mich., December 3, 2001 -- Arbortext, Inc., the only global provider of XML-based software that enables the creation, editing and publishing of information to multiple media types from a single source of content, today announced a 27 percent growth over the previous quarter. Fueling this growth is the addition of 93 new customers during the third quarter, including Concord Communications (NASDAQ: CCRD) and Maytag Corporation. "Arbortext continues to do well in a tough economic environment because our XML-based publishing software cuts costs and improves worker productivity," said Ray Schiavone, President and CEO of Arbortext. "Our ability to deliver provable returns while helping companies increase customer satisfaction and retention continues to persuade the world's leading organizations to choose Arbortext software. Helping organizations cut costs while improving the accuracy, freshness, consistency and usability of their information across all media is an irresistible combination to companies seeking to do more with less." Arbortext’s Epic product suite enables organizations to reuse rather than recreate information, reducing both cost and time to market with new products. Concord Communications and Maytag join Arbortext’s Global 2000 customers who are experiencing the benefits that an XML authoring and multichannel publishing solution offers, including working more efficiently, reducing publishing times, and staying ahead of customer requirements. “We chose to work with Arbortext because the Epic product suite gives us the flexibility to provide our customers with the documentation they need and in the format of their choice,” said Bill Tracy, Vice President of Engineering at Concord Communications. “We think of our User Centered Information Group as an extension of the sales team, and when you have happy customers, you have repeat customers, which ultimately leads to increased revenues – something we’re seeing each quarter.” Q3 Highlights * Arbortext announced the appointment of Raymond Schiavone as its new President and Chief Executive Officer in August.
