The event will be held at the San Francisco Marriott Hotel on September 5 as part of the 20th International Internet & Software Quality Week 2002 conference. Dr. Selim Aissi, a Senior Security Architect in Intel's Corporate Technology Group, will chair the panel. Web Services are now being adopted, but doubts persist about their reliability and security. The panel will discuss the quality of service and security aspects of Web Services technologies. "This is a strong line-up of industry experts from security and integration backgrounds," said Norbert Mikula, Intel's director of Web Services Technology and co-chair of WS-I. "I am sure that the debate will be lively and useful." Mark O'Neill, CTO of Web Services security company Vordel continued, saying that "2002 has seen a growing realization of the challenges which Web Services present for security and reliability. A flurry of industry initiatives is meeting these challenges and the discussion group will put these initiatives into focus." Fred Meyer, chief strategy officer with TIBCO Software, described the event as, "A unique opportunity to learn from key industry practitioners about the quality of service metrics and security measures essential for enterprise Web Services." That's why we're combining security and quality of service in this session." The Panel Discussion will be centered on the following Web Services Reliability Indicators: · Security (authentication, authorization, privacy, integrity) · Functional, Regression, Stress, and Monitoring testing techniques · XML Validity · Messaging Validity (SOAP validity) and security · Service Discovery Architecture and Performance · Web Services Availability · Web Services Load-Balancing and Workload-Partitioning The event is part of the 20th International Internet & Software Quality Week Conference which focuses on advances in software quality processes, quality control, risk management, software safety and reliability.
