Content contributors, ordinary business people who do not need knowledge of XML, will appreciate the improved usability of the editing interface, which is available as a standalone application or in embedded form. These are instantly usable in XMetaL Author and XMAX (XMetaL for ActiveX) and provide a very good foundation for people creating customizations with XMetaL Developer. * Automatic Reloading of Customization Files: When a customization file is updated and saved in XMetaL Developer, XMetaL Author and XMAX (XMetaL for ActiveX) automatically update themselves to use the new version of the file. XMetaL Author enables developers to easily move between it and the appropriate customization editor in XMetaL Developer - decreasing development time. * Application-level Customizations: Developers can now create application-level customizations that apply to all DTDs and schemas. This simplifies the development of customizations, such as CMS integrations, that are independent of any particular document type. * Improved Table Editing: Authors now have the flexibility to quickly move or copy content, including multiple cells, within and among tables using a convenient click, drag-and-drop method. They can also delete multiple columns in a single operation. CALS, HTML and XHTML table models are supported. * New Style Sheet Editor: The CSS editor is easier to use than ever. It has been streamlined and simplified, but retains all the powerful capabilities of previous versions. * Improved Developer Project Wizards: Completely revamped project wizards in XMetaL Developer are simpler to use and have an improved workflow.
