SOA Software Acquires Blue Titan

Company Expands Its SOA Infrastructure Platform with Blue Titan's Technology, Expertise and Customers

SANTA MONICA, Calif.-May 8, 2006-SOA Software, a leading provider of SOA and Web services management, security and governance solutions, today announced that it has acquired Web services networking company Blue Titan.
Blue Titan's technology and team immediately add to SOA Software's strong position in the SOA Infrastructure market.  The company is well known as a leading provider of software to build Web services networks and to date, has won the business of several marquee companies including Pfizer, British American Tobacco and Yahoo.   Blue Titan's products focus on providing high performance message management, and policy-based mediation between various standards, protocols, messaging implementations and programming models.

"Interest in SOA continues to be strong, and vendors are responding by expanding their offerings to accommodate the evolving needs of the market," said Sandra Rogers, director of SOA research at IDC.  "IDC predicts SOA-driven tools and infrastructure software spending worldwide to grow to $7B by 2009, and SOA Software is well positioned to take advantage of this growth."

Frank Martinez, founder, chief executive and chief technology officer of Blue Titan will become executive vice president of the combined company, focusing on product strategy.  Blue Titan's core competence in standards-based messaging and policy-based mediation dovetails with SOA Software's governance, management, and security expertise to form a more comprehensive SOA Infrastructure offering.  Blue Titan adds:

       Multiple implementations of asynchronous and reliable messaging standards allowing consumers using different platforms and protocols to reliably communicate with a wide variety of back-end service platforms.

       Bridging between different implementations of a wide range of standards, synchronicity and programming models ensuring interoperability between different technologies and platforms.

        Broad interoperability between the many different Enterprise Service Bus implementations and deployments common in most large enterprises.
SOA Software is committed to providing the very best support to all its customers, and will extend this commitment to Blue Titan's existing customers, adding to SOA Software's already impressive top tier customer portfolio.  SOA Software will continue to support Blue Titan's Network Director, and will offer Blue Titan's customers preferential access to SOA Software's technology.

"We are pleased to be able to strengthen our company with the addition of Blue Titan's complementary technology, team and customers," said Paul Gigg, president and chief executive officer of SOA Software.  "This acquisition, and our ability to continue to drive consolidation moves us further ahead as an SOA Infrastructure company, making SOA Software the strongest candidate to succeed as the leader in this fast growing market."

"The combination of SOA Software's governance, security, and management products, with our mediation technologies creates solutions that meet all of a customer's SOA infrastructure needs" said Frank Martinez, founder and chief executive officer of Blue Titan.  "At this point in the evolution of the market it makes a tremendous amount of sense for us to join forces in capitalizing on our complimentary capabilities and strengths and creating the leading provider of platform-independent SOA infrastructure solutions."
