Subject: RE: [cgmo-webcgm] user input on step antimation
Hi Forrest,
What I meant (and probably didn't explain properly) was
reservoir/gas tank level animation. I see that differently then gas or fluid
movement in a pipe. Would you agree?

through a wire and showing fluid or gas moving through a tube of pipe could look
the same, I don’t think there is a real requirement to show bubbles moving, but
just some visual indication that current or liquid or gas is moving through a
wire, pipe or tube and the direction it is moving. Regards, Forrest From: Bezaire,
Benoit [mailto:bbezaire@ptc.com] Ok. Would anyone have some
static CGM samples this group could use to discuss the 'liquid' use cases? I
think it would remove some confusion if we all had the same visual idea of what
we are dealing with. Perhaps Boeing and/or Airbus would have samples this group
could use? Regards, Benoit. From: Forrest
Carpenter [mailto:forrest@sdicgm.com] Benoit, I use the term “Step
Animation” to refer to moving or styling objects in discrete
steps. Regards, Forrest
From: Bezaire,
Benoit [mailto:bbezaire@ptc.com] Hi
Forrest, When you say "Step
Animation"... are you talking about the discrete animation the group has been
talking about or are you referring the step animation in my email of Sept
6? Regards, Benoit. From: Forrest
Carpenter [mailto:forrest@sdicgm.com] All, We have had discussions with two
groups within Lockheed Martin and two vendors that supply interactive technical
and training material, below are general comments: Creating animated training materials
using applications like Authorware is very
expensive. “Step Animation” would probably work
for most applications, but would like to see some
examples. Requirements:
Move, rotate or scale an object.
Show progressive movement of liquid, gas or current through a wire or
pipe
Show directional flow of liquid, gas or current in a wire or
pipe
Show changes in levels of liquid in a container
A method that would switch between two styles of an object periodically. (flash
or blink)
Pan or zoom to a section of the drawing. . Regards, Forrest |
