Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (CMIS-713) Add secondary objecttypes

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/CMIS-713?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=24898#action_24898 ]

Jens Hübel commented on CMIS-713:
---------------------------------

Looks good to me...

I would like to propose an extension to this proposal.

In many scenarios it is useful to provide other properties during a create...() call. For example properties to a relationship, policy, etc.

The same pattern described here could be used to provide such properties as well. This avoids additional round trips and (more important) preservers the atomicity of the call (see also CMIS-714)

> We have discussed secondary types/mix-ins/aspects/categories/... for CMIS 1.0 and dismissed them to get the specification out of the door.
> We should take the discussion up again for CMIS 1.1. It would open the door for more applications and simplify others. If I remember correctly, many repositories have native support for secondary types anyway.
