I really like the idea of bulk operations.  Two suggestions immediately come to mind. How about making a more generic bulk operation instead?  One where the action to be performed is one additional (scalar) input parameter.   So the entire batch would still be one homogeneous operation. (i.e. delete all of these objects)  This would allow other bulk operations like delete, create, apply policy, <future 2.0 operation name here> , etc.   
Another thought; perhaps there could also be boolean parameter to indicate whether the operation must be performed atomically.   Or this could also be a repository wide capability.  (something like supportsAtomicBatches=true)
