I just verified that P8 does not expose this ability (to append the stream) in the public API.   So the only way that the P8 CMIS code could implement this would be to utilize the proposed 'isLastChunk' and keep the stream local (also means keeping state of course) and send the whole thing to the backend when isLastChunk=true.
