Subject: Re: [cmis] Motion for approving the CMIS 1.1 Working Draft 08 as Committee Draft and submitting it for pubic review

I second these two motions. The motions are now open for discussion.
If we do not hear any concern or disagreement by this Friday, I shall open the two corresponding e-ballots.

Background information:
A new version of the TC Process took effect on 1 August. It contains the following new paragraph in the "TC Voting" section:
"A motion opening an electronic ballot must be made in a TC meeting or on the TC's general email list. Motions made on the TC's email list must also be seconded and discussed on that list."
As we proceed through the approval process for CMIS v1.1, we shall use electronic ballot extensively and avoid calling TC meetings just to conduct a simple vote. The new TC Process now requires a formal TC motion to set up each e-ballot. This seemed a bit silly to me since, rigorously, each motion itself needs to be voted on too (thus a catch-22). Until I get this clarified, we have to follow what the TC Process says. Otherwise, we will be told to "do it again correctly".

Best regards,

David

Dear TC members,

I would like to make the motion to approve the CMIS 1.1 Working Draft 08
as Committee Draft and to submit it for public review.

Do the CMIS TC members agree that the Working Draft 08 for Content
Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) Version 1.1 and all associated
artifacts contained in [1] be approved as Committee Specification Draft 01?

Do the CMIS TC members further agree that the public review draft version
of Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) Version 1.1 and all
associated artifacts contained in [1] be approved as Committee
Specification Public Review Draft 01 and submitted to TC Administration to
release for public review?
