Subject: Reminder: Straw poll on how to move forward
Reminder: the straw poll on how to move forward with DIPAL closes Feb. 26. The original e-mail said Feb. 23, but since I will be on vacation all next week in a location that is off the Internet, I will accept votes up until close of business 26 February. I will compile the results and post them when I return on 27 February. I have attached the original mail giving the 3 questions for the straw poll. I want to thank everyone for contributing to this discussion. I hope it has been useful regardless of the outcome of this particular proposal. Regards, Anne -- Anne H. Colleagues, Since this mailing list discussion terminates at the end of February, we need to decide whether and how to move forward. Please send me your responses to the following straw poll (or post to the list) no later than Feb. 23. This should accommodate those of you who need to obtain corporate approval before expressing opinions :-). I will keep responses sent to me and not to the list private, posting a summary of the results only. Feel free to add comments to elaborate on your answers. Responses are non-binding on you and on your organization. FYI: this list currently has 65 subscribers representing 28 different companies plus a small number of academic institutions. STRAW POLL ON DOMAIN-INDEPENDENT POLICY ASSERTION LANGUAGE A. In your personal opinion, if a domain-independent web services policy assertion language such as WS-PolicyConstraints became a standard, would it probably be used by some other standards, industry consortia, or applications? In other words, is it worth standardizing? A "YES" answer does not mean you or your organization would necessarily use it or implement it, but that you think it is likely to be used by other standards or within the industry. YES NO No answer B. If a new OASIS TC were formed to develop and standardize a domain-independent web services policy assertion language such as WS-PolicyConstraints, would you or your organization participate? YES - active participation YES - observer NO No answer C. Would you (or your organization) participate in the XACML TC to standardize a Web Services Policy Profile of XACML along the lines of WS-PolicyConstraints? YES - active participation YES - observer NO No answer Regards, Anne -- Anne H.
