I e-mailed fairly extensively with OASIS staff last week. Here is the additional information that I gathered:
- OASIS Foundation as-a-service is really not an option for us. It does NOT work in conjunction with OASIS-standards production process; they work that these OASIS foundations produce
are not standards.
- Working with Open Collective is definitely an option. The costs for doing this are as following:
- 10% of funds collected go to Open Collective.
- The percentage of the funds collected by OASIS varies. They collect 0% if the funds come from OASIS members, but 25% if the funds come from companies that are not OASIS members. OASIS
has indicated a willingness to lower this percentage for non-OASIS members for the first year.
- So in the long run, since we anticipate most of the funds collected would come from non-OASIS members, the cost of administration would be ~ 35% a year.
