in common/dbl1xx.dsl, with xx = your lang, you'll
find a list of:

    xx-label-title-sep

(again xx=your lang)

Put there your own separator. For example, replace

    list (normalize "sect1")  ". ")

with

    list (normalize "sect1")  " ")
                                              ^
(note that I have left one space)
