Norm to add acknowledgements element to 5.0. | | There may be an issue regarding "acknowledgement" versus | "acknowledgment". I realize that the online docbook documentation at | http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/documentation/reference/html/docbook.h | tml | uses the former, and I personally prefer the former, since one | would ordinarily think the g is hard in the latter. | | However, I feel obliged to point out that it appears to be a | substantial majority of uses prefer the latter spelling. Ugh. I don't believe "acknowledgment" is a real word. :-) But as Paul points out: 11 dictionaries for http://www.onelook.com/?w=acknowledgement&ls=a 27 for http://www.onelook.com/?w=acknowledgment&ls=a Bah. I'll never spell it right without the third "e", but I'll probably never use the element, so I vote "concur" on the spelling :-) Be seeing you, norm -- Norman Walsh <ndw@nwalsh.com> | Everything should be made as http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/ | simple as possible, but no simpler.
