Subject: DOCBOOK: Re: pagebreaks (Re: Which conversion method should I use?)
/ Baráth Gábor <dincsi@elender.hu> was heard to say: | about tables: if i know well, colwidth attribute has measure only like | inch or cm and not %. IMHO 2cm has no semantic meaning. The width of | column depends on font and paper size or window width in html. That's why CALS allows relative units. | If you want presentation independent structure, | i think it shound be fixed. Maybe better be using some attrib to set | the column width. (something like that: | colfit="fit-to-text|avaible-space") If you set pagewide=1, you're asking for the table to be coerced to the page width. If you don't, you're giving the renderer a free hand to build a table that may be narrower than the available page width. (Note that in a multi-column environment, there's no equivalent colwide=1; if you set pagewide=1, you're implicitly asking for the table to span all the columns.) Be seeing you, norm -- Norman Walsh <ndw@nwalsh.com> | Doubt is to certainty as neurosis http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/ | is to psychosis. The neurotic is Chair, DocBook Technical Committee | in doubt and has fears about | persons and things; the psychotic | has convictions and makes claims | about them. In short, the neurotic | has problems, the psychotic has | solutions.--Thomas Szasz
