authorinitials in authorgroup

Hi

Is there any reason why authorinitials isnât allowed in authorgroup?

My intention is to allow our editors to insert authorinitials, check these against a database using Schematron and in a process substitute the authorinitials with a proper constructed author element using data from the same database.
