Subject: RE: [docstandards-interop-discuss] documents or data.

Dave,

Agreed. Option B, I believe, is the focus of this TC. From my perspective, the problem
space is bound by "narrative" XML document standards (DocBook, DITA, ODF, TEI, etc.)
that are designed around "conventional" publishing/document metaphors like headings,
lists, tables, images, and so on.

Cheers,

Jim

Subject: [docstandards-interop-discuss] documents or data.

Reading a blog or two today and I wondered which way the readership of this list
is leaning.
http://drmacros-xml-rants.blogspot.com/2007/04/xml-documents-vs-xml-data-packages.html

Is the subject of this TC, the data that is, more likely to be

a. Machine to machine.
b. Person to person.
c. Both
d. Some mix.

My prejudice said b, but without any rationale.

Anyone else care to declare a bias?

regards
