Comment from: inma@dif.um.es Name: Inma Marín Title: IT Consultant Organization: University of Murcia Regarding Specification: DSS Core Committee Draft 3 (DSS Core Elements) As far as timestamping of a signature is concerned, the specification includes how a client should create a <SignRequest> in order to get an existing CMS signature timestamped. That is, the client should include in the request: - the to-be-timestamped CMS signature into a <Base64Data> of MimeType="application/pkcs7-signature" - <SignatureType> set to "urn:ietf_rfc:3161" - <AddTimestamp> However, there is no indications on how a <SignRequest> should be created so as to get the timestamping of an existing XML signature from the DSS server. Could you so be kind as to tell me why is this lack in the specification, please? What elements should be included in the <SignRequest> in this case? Thank you very much in advance. Inma.
