We'll finalize the conceptual direction today on WI-12 WSDL Support and 
the vote will open before COB today, 14 June 2004.
The vote will be a summary of the identified requirements with 
references to assist in a quorate vote. 

Here are identified requirements:
   * Support the guiding principles from other sources including 
dispatch and reach.
   * Provide the capability to support an abstract web service reference 
(Operation 'thingy'). Support
     monitoring and existing capabilities particularly state alignment.
   * Ensure the technical specification clearly identifies that there 
are at least two distinct use case areas for these
     services: Provide a basis a business agreement and support of an 
overall exchange. With the latter, we should ensure
     it is clearly defined and usage is controlled appropriately.
   * For v3.0, create a technical note on use of web services in the 
context of a constrained
     business transaction pattern.
   * Coordinate with ebXML JC to provide constraints on the use of 
business transactions with other ebXML specifications,
     particularly ebMS and CPPA (for v2.1 errata).

Constraints or boundaries identified:
         o Specification should indicate that the web service should
           not used to initiate or fulfill/discharge a business
           commitment [2].
         o Use web services to provide state alignment where parties
           can't use a robust capability such as those defined in
           existing business transaction patterns [2].

***Vote is anticipated to close by 21 June 2004 (11 p.m. PDT).***

[1] Need to identify how web services fit in dispatch-reach requirements.
