The main agenda item for this meeting was to review ebXML CPPA and other ebXML interaction with the eAgreement initiative.

It was the consensus that the NDD (Negotiation Description Document) would be of value to the eAgreement initiative. Possibly some generalization of what is currently available would be needed to permit references to clauses that represent alternative “terms and conditions” governing collaboration agreements at the business level.

An extract of the NDD material is to be made available to Thomas Warner and the eAgreement team. Pim will also compare his use of NDD in his prototypes to the web form demo of Exostar. Exostar should be invited to comment on any NDD functionality enhancements. Sacha and perhaps Pim will explore providing a demo for the eAgreement team showing full capabilities of the ebXML approach, for both semi-automated and web form based interactions.

It seems that a general child of CPP/CPA extension point would be sufficient for any connections of a CPA with an eAgreement. It was pointed out that configuring a MSH to be able to have a URL to retrieve relevant policies for exceptional conditions might be useful to incorporate into MSH management and administration tools.

The TC was grateful for Thomas Warner’s contributions and continued with a discussion of an issue pertaining to the ComplexBusinessTransactionActivity presented by Monica Martin.

A complex business transaction activity typically involves multiple parties involved in multiple business transactions. The distinctive feature of a cBTA, however, is that one (or more) BTAs occur between the first two parties requesting and responding business activities. Monica raised these issues:

1. does action context suffice  to capture the “place” that a BTA occurs within a business collaboration that contains cBTAs?

2. are special rules for Role values needed for dealing with the Performs rebinding in cBTAs within a CPA?

An effort will be made to further explore and possibly resolve these issues by the Dec 8 meeting.
