Joe,

On the "hello world" examples - this is something the addition of the XML dictionary, Excel spreadsheet and CAM templates is designed to accommodate - by showing components, structure layouts and permitting easy tailoring and XML instance generation.

We also have the EML 440 worked example:

 http://markmail.org/message/qyrpfq75mtctblyq

This just uses generic data however - we could make it more realistic by adding a PDF of a voted ballot image - and then showing how that data is stored in the corresponding EML.

Then add that package to the TC documents repository.  Maybe someone would like to take on improving our examples?

I would suggest however when providing more examples - this is best handled outside of the formal specification.

Thanks, DW

Apologies on my own behalf for missing the call today... had a number
of unexpected things delaying me at the house this morning.

I agree that a deep look into auditing (of which Neal and I work on
quite a bit) should wait until the next version. The only thing I see
that I would add to the disposition is a recognization that we will
also provide some simple "Hello World!" examples in the next release
(this is something we sorely need to get wider adoption, independent
of what P1622 decides or decides not to do with EML).

best, Joe
