Subject: EM-TC Charter
All EM-TC Participants, It is time to take a look at our charter. We need to review and update the scope, deliverables, etc with an eye to what we plan to accomplish in 2005. We would like to get this through a review in order to publish before the Nov 15-19 XML 2004 Conference. Art has graciously taken a stab at a draft and sent it to the list earlier today (Draft_2005_TC_Charter.doc). The TC conference call today began a review but did not complete with the time allotted. Also, there are a couple of issues that are brought to the attention of the list for input as described below: Basically, those on the call today were cautioned about the wording of the last sentence in the Statement of Purpose. The Scope of Work was agreeable with some slight wording changes that Michelle will put out for review. We got a bit hung up on the first two points of the 1st Quarter 2005 Deliverables. The discussion was perhaps philosophical in nature but if addressed well in the charter could keep us from re-visiting/arguing these issues in later work. After these two points are put to rest, the remainder of the draft document - although quite aggressive will likely be well received. Please provide an overall assessment and any comments, suggested wording you would like to offer to the list. Regards, Elysa Jones Chair EM-TC Warning Systems, Inc. 256-880-8702 x102
