Subject: EDXL 2-May-2005: Distribution element : IDs
Hi all comments/feedback on 2-May-2005 version of EDXL for IDs used in the distribution element. 1 - messageID I am concerned that this is not a globally unique identifier. I would recommend that this take the form of a UUID for global interoperability. 2 - senderID I am concerned that this only allows email addresses. What if the sender is not human but a system (ie web service)?? 3 - messageReference If (1) is adopted above, then the value would simply be the UUID of the original message. 4 - recipientAddress Same concerns as (2) - but since this is a URI then an email address or Web Service location is possible? (Ie recipient maybe human or machine?) Cheers...
