Having given it more thought since the meeting, I am not persuaded about a. but I was persuaded during the meeting that b. is what I think is best, and I am more convinced now. That doesn't mean that I do not think that a secondarySenderRole and secondaryRecipientRole could be a good option, given that there are valid use cases for more qualification, and for a way to modify messages based on roles, or modify recipient lists based on roles.
