Subject: RE: [emergency] EDXL-DE Committee Draft

Ron,

Welcome to the EM-TC. We are glad to have you aboard. I am hopeful you
are finding your way around the site. As you will see we have three
subcommittees, GIS, Infrastructure and Msg/Notification. The GIS
sub-committee has been chaired for quite some time by Dr. Carl Reed of OGC
and he is a voting member of this TC. He has provided insight through the
CAP 1.0, CAP 1.1 and EDXL-DE processes. We understand that all things are
not perfect in our geo-spatial representations and they are not consistent
between the specs at this time. We plan to have CAP harmonized with EDXL
at CAP 2.0. It is a current task of the GIS SC to make recommendations to
the TC to that end. I look forward to your efforts in support of the EM-TC.

Regards,
Elysa Jones, Chair
OASIS EM-TC
Engineering Program Manager
Warning Systems, Inc.
