Agree Joshua.  I wonder about finessing between markets like PJM where ordered pairs can be entered mathematically  unrelated to each other, versus the preference of control room operators (and traditional RTO's) who plan based on these curves. Classic engineering/economics question. Realistically, generator sources would tend to follow curves while the demand side might not.
