Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (EMIX-491) PAP03 Req #3: apparentgap; across the smart grid

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-491?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=26931#action_26931 ]

Edward Cazalet commented on EMIX-491:
--------------------------------------

SEP 2.0 is not yet in deployment. Many other retail price communications and home area networks are offered and planned. The EMIX price model is designed to convey both dynamic prices and static tariff prices. Examples have been provided. EMIX is also extensible. With a little work and creativity EMIX can communicate with any interface, SEP 2.0 or otherwise. The SEP 2.0 information model for price communication is not evident, as it is rather a component of a much more complex message. While the TC is eager to work with SEP 2.0, It should be up to SEP 2.0 to figure out how to use the more general EMIX price and product information model.

OPENADR is applying randomness in Energy Interop. The world experts on calendaring in WS-Calendar have concluded that randomness of intervals and durations in WS-Calendar would be ambiguous.

I recommend this issue be closed.

> Project: OASIS Energy Market Information Exchange (eMIX) TC
> Issue Type: Sub-task
> Affects Versions: CSD03/PR03
> Environment: Aaron Snyder

>
> Requirement Text:
> The price model work shall produce a common specification for price and product definition across the entire Smart Grid
> Apparent Gap:
> Not suitable across entire grid because it doesn't yet map to SEP2.0 which is expected to operate intra-customer premise and at the ESI boundary. Also WS-Calendar doesn't support randomization of behavior relative to price signals.
