Subject: Re: [energyinterop] Preparation for May 13 meeting

I did not get any of the notices from my own uploads either. I'm not sure why.

We adopted the convention a decade ago of uploading all versions of a WD as a single document, doc, pdf showing revisions, and final pdf as "revs", to avoid clutter.

To find the "other" versions, look in the document repository, under "standards" in this case, and see that there are 3 revisions of WD04.

On my screen, I see a light grey box on the right of each row. Click on that, select "Details" from the context menu, and you will see links to all revs.

Just as I got no emails myself from the upload, I do not see the metadata I uploaded either. I will put in a note to TC Admins about that. As Bill suggested

1) We want to finalize all definitions in Tables 2-1, 2-3 this week, as they are the foundation of all language elsewhere in the specification

2) If we get that down, we should move onto the inherited semantics, i.e., all the tables of the new section 3. There are some highlighted questions there (pink highlight, to distinguish from the Yellow to-do) that will drive the message typing. I hope to come to consensus on the semantics and answer the Pink questions.

3) If we have time, circling back to the revised Section 1, which describes the approach of the Actor Model architecture more consistently (internally consistent in this document, consistent with the wider use of the document) to drive the development of the messages. The essential effect for this specification is that it will drive a limited number of strongly typed messages with little optionality, and the principles of the Actor Model should guide our conversations.

There is no point in looking past Section 3, as later sections are unchanged from the original submission, and less and less consistent with the first 3. If we stabilize sections 1-3, the changes in later sections are applying the principles and semantics, and straight forward, even if still painstaking.

Bill, I don’t see any docx posted, and can’t find any note from Toby to the EITC with that. Could post that please?

Thanks,
David

Toby's uploaded Working Draft 4 of the Common Transactive Services specification. You should have seen the notices with links included.

The PDF is the latest revision ; if you have detailed suggestions please download the DOCX and edit, or describe comments using the continuous line numbers in the PDF.

This is our major agenda item for May 13, concentrating on sections 1-3. Since the XML schemas have evolved, and the UML needs to, there's less need to concentrate on Section 4 and later, but comments are always welcome.

The other agenda item, after action item review, is the Privacy section for our next working draft.

Thanks!

bill
