3. Discuss tutorials and use cases for the ICOM workshop on June 28, 29

Participants agreed to hold the ICOM TC Meeting weekly until the ICOM workshop. The weekly meetings will be on Wednesdays 9:00 AM PDT. The next meeting will be on May 19.

Participants discussed the following two uses cases that highlight the benefits of ICOM:

1.       Interoperability through Beehive-BSCW-Drupal use cases.

2.       Faceted search and relational navigation application, which benefits from RDF representations of ICOM

For use case 1, Deirdre added that Drupal 7 includes RDFa in its core. This allows any Drupal 7 website to be expressed in RDF. Any RDF vocabulary may be used. SIOC, FOAF, and ICOM are examples of vocabularies that may be used to describe aspects of a Drupal 7 website. To promote ICOM, we can show an example of a Drupal 7 website with some concepts described in terms of the ICOM vocabulary.

For use case 2, Eric showed a UI mockup to describe the faceted search and relational navigation application. This application leverages the RDF representation of ICOM. The UML representation of ICOM compliments the RDF representation with operations on the objects. There are operations besides the CRUD operations.

4. AOB

The TC Meeting was adjourned.
