Subject: FW: [egov-sc] CLOUD COMPUTING
Greetings
all Forwarding
you all this email from the OASIS eGov MS Chair, John Borras. Much
of the information will be already known to many folks on this list, so I won't
particularly dwell on it except to say that the Cloud Stds co-ordination Wiki
includes some content on Audit, which was something I personally did not know
about. But
to the point of this email: Can we offer eGov any guidance on what we could
consider doing/filling in in terms of 'some missing bits'? Bear
in mind that the OASIS eGov MS is not a technical group and does not develop
standards per se (well not without spinning up a TC to do particular work). The
most obvious request would be to reach out to the membership for any 'eGov' use
cases pertaining to the Cloud (and pass them over to Id-Cloud). But
anything else? Cheers Colin From: John Borras
[mailto:johnaborras@yahoo.co.uk] It has bothered me for some time that we
haven’t been doing anything on Cloud Computing despite several
suggestions from contacts and members. We’ve had an Item on
the work plan all year to establish a Discussion Forum but that hasn’t
come to anything yet and I do wonder now whether that is the right thing for us
to be doing. I’ve just been pointed to this article and related
material which gives a good overview of where things are at and who’s
doing what. The question is in my mind is, given all this activity where
can we add value or fill in some missing bits? I would welcome your views
and let’s have a discussion about it on next week’s SC call. Article by Andrew Watson Cloud Standards Coordination Wiki http://cloud-standards.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
