Subject: Re: [legalxml-courtfiling] evidence/exhibits in ECF?

The standard allows for linked materials to be efiled. So the 3D model could be hosted by a system stipulated by the parties or ordered by the court. Jim M

Arizona follows the approach Joe describes in our General Jurisdiction courts.  We’ve contemplated accepting reproducible 3D models of scanned evidence, but we just can’t seem to make the numbers work. ;-)

I can’t speak for all courts but the couple of courts that I have seen, they have explicit exhibit document type codes for connected documents to a filing that will typically be anything in the attachment portion of the document, so from that perspective, it is already covered. I don’t know if all courts handle exhibits the same and would be surprised if they did.

Posting this to the TC list to capture the thought for discussion (maybe in the next TC call) . . .

I’ve received a couple of recent inquiries regarding handling of evidence and exhibits in e-filing, including electronic documents and files (e.g., photos), corresponding physical evidence, etc.  Has this ever been considered in ECF?  If not, does it warrant consideration in ECF 5?
