Although it is rare, the case number is not unique in some jurisdictions.  For this reason, we use (and allow for) a separate identity for uniquely identifying a case.

Maybe I don’t understand your use case.  If you already know the case number, why do you need to use GetCaseList?  Can’t you just call GetCase directly?

Sorry about the timing of these questions, I just haven’t had time until just recently to really dig into the messages.

 

I noticed the GetCaseList schema does not have an element for the case number.  For a case number search was the intent to use the DocumentIdentification?  Or should it have a j:CaseNumberText element?
