Subject: [legalxml-econtracts] eContracts TC: Meeting Notice; Use CaseContribution and Other Business

Dear eContracts TC Participants,

The next meeting of the eContracts TC will be Wednesday 12 Feb, 10pm GMT (which is is 5pm EST, 2pm PST and 9am in Melbourne, AU).  On the agenda will be the “then current” compilation of scenarios, use cases and draft requirements now being assembled by our “requirements committee”, headed by Jason Harrop (jharrop@speedlegal.com) and Barry Hanson (bhansen@imany.com).

All participants in this TC are strongly encouraged to submit your ideas of sample and representative use cases or business scenarios that will drive the requirements process.  Shortly, I’ll be delivering a first draft of such scenarios and use cases relating to electronic and automated transactions in which a contracts is created and/or the terms of an electronic contracts are applied to electronic processes in an automated fashion.  I hope that those of you with similar or different concepts (including large-scale procurement management and other scenarios) will contribute your visions at this stage.

The next meeting will serve as an important threshold, wherein we’ll start the end of the requirements gathering process.  It will still be possible to add or change things after the next meeting, but the stage will be set.  So now is the time to get your ideas into the mix.

Finally, I encourage all participants to contribute background information in yourselves and your general interest in the arena of electronic contracts.  I will be submitting such an e-mail in the next couple of days.  This will make it easier for us to work with one another in our virtual setting.

Looking forward to a productive winter term,

 - Daniel Greenwood
