Subject: Closure of OASIS UDDI Specification TC
To OASIS Members: This is to confirm that the OASIS Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) Specification Technical Committee voted to complete its work in late 2007 and has been closed. The UDDI Specification TC standardized two versions (v2.0 and v3.0) of the UDDI specification set, as well as a Schema Centric XML Canonicalization Specification V1.0. See: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/uddi-spec/doc/tcspecs.htm#uddiv3 UDDI versions 2.0 and 3.0 were approved as OASIS Standards. See: http://www.oasis-open.org/news/oasis_news_02_03_05.php and the TC's presentation "UDDI v3: The Registry Standard for SOA", at: http://www.oasis-open.org/presentations/uddi_v3_webcast_20050222.pdf The UDDI specification set and associated data models and schemas provide the basic methods for publication and discovery of Web services, both within and between enterprises. These standards are in wide use today, and serve as the cornerstone for standards-based Web service registries and directories. The implementer community for UDDI maintains a continuing presence at the OASIS focus area for UDDI at: http://uddi.xml.org/ See also the uddi-dev mailing list, archived at: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/uddi-dev/ We thank the members and leadership of the TC for their contributions and dedication to this effort. The work that the TC produced during its tenure can be found at its public pages, which will remain accessible at: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=uddi-spec. The TC e-mail archives will remain permanently accessible at: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/uddi-spec. The e-mail archives for the related work of the now-closed UDDI Member Section also remain accessible at: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/uddi-ms/ Regards, JBC ~ James Bryce Clark ~ Director of Standards Development, OASIS ~ http://www.oasis-open.org/who/staff.php#clark
